Is there a free plan?
Yes — Basic is free forever, with no card required. It gives you one live connection, up to two imported accounts, 90 days of transaction history, a daily net worth snapshot, and full multi-currency support.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes. Subscriptions are handled by Apple, so you cancel in your Apple subscription settings and keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. Annual plans are billed once upfront and run for the full year.
Can I switch between plans?
Yes, and Apple handles the proration when you do. One exception: if you are the owner of a household, you need to dissolve it before moving to an Individual plan.
Where is my financial data stored?
In the region you signed up from. BudgetWiz runs six separate regional databases — Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, the European Union, Australia, and a rest-of-world region. Your country sets your region on the day you sign up, and it never changes after that.
Does BudgetWiz work outside my own country?
Yes. You can connect over 5,000 institutions no matter where you live, and view everything in any of 153 world currencies — or in a cryptocurrency. Where your data is stored and where your accounts are held are two separate things: someone living in Canada can hold an account abroad and both work normally.
How does the currency conversion work?
You pick a home currency when you sign up, then choose any display currency you like. Every transaction is converted using the exchange rate from the day it actually happened, not today's rate, so your history stays accurate. Changing display currency re-prices everything instantly on the device.
How does Household LinkUp work?
You invite one partner by email — they do not need an account yet to be invited. Once linked, you both see a combined net worth history and shared expense analytics. Each of you chooses which accounts to keep out of that shared view, and neither of you can see what the other has hidden.
Is my financial data secure?
Sensitive fields are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before they are written to the database, and the key is held in a managed vault rather than alongside the data. The app itself can be locked behind a PIN or biometric login. Your data is never sold or shared with third parties.
